What that means in practice

When you follow a product link from this site and buy something, we may receive a commission. It costs you nothing extra, and the price you pay is the same either way.

What it does not mean

It does not mean a product was recommended because it pays more. Components are selected on published specifications and on whether they suit the system the page is about. Where the right answer is a cheaper product, or no product at all, that is what the page says.

We also reject products that a search returns but that do not match the claim. Cranking batteries returned by a deep cycle search, lead-acid returned by a lithium search and plain inverters returned by an inverter charger search were all excluded, even though every one of them would have earned a commission just the same.
